Resuming now with MacGregor's article, she notes that Revelation 14:5 says the remnant of 144,000 are blameless and without any lie found in their mouth, but Watchtower's heads have often mispredicted dates for Armageddon, for example: 1975, 1941, 1918, 1915, 1914, 1879, 1874.  On page 120 of volume 1 of the 1930 publication Light, the statement is written that "Again God put it in the mind of his people, by his angel, to act and to carry out his purposes."  MacGregor notes the Bible nowhere says angels put things into believers' minds, although Holy Spirit can motivate us in this way.  She also notes that Galatians 1:8, 9 warns that even if we or an angel preached a Good News contrary to what Christ and the apostles taught, then "let him be accursed."  Jeremiah 23:16 says to not listen to those prophesying futilely.  In ancient times such a false prophet was stoned.

In its early days while spearheaded by Charles T. Russell and his wife Maria (Ackley Francis) Russell, the Watchtower organization's heads were definitely and openly into pyramidology, numerology, stargazing etc.  Charles was at least a wannabee Mason, and his father and Maria’s father were Masons.  Today's Watchtower heads no longer talk positively of such pyramidology etc or predict exact end-dates to the general membership or public, but they do still do some things quite openly such as have a Bible translation that falsely gives the name "Jehovah" where every existing early manuscript says "Lord," and, as said, when you look at their entire history of over a century from 1874 to today, it is full of falsehoods, futile predictions etc.

Watchtower’s New World Translation of the Bible is partly based on or influenced by the translation work of Johannes Greber, who was also spiritist and Catholic and to whom is sometimes credited Watchtower's aberrant notion that Christ is "Michael the archangel will stands up for his people in the last days."  They have acknowledged Greber's roll regarding their New World Translation but did not withdraw the translation itself.  In name it was produced by a Watchtower Society committee but former Governing Body member Raymond V. Franz has documented that the actual translator on that committee was his uncle Frederick Franz, who was later a President of Watchtower.  Frederick Franz used Greber among some other sources.
 
Also, the Governing Body of the Watchtower Society teaches JWs a so-called "Truth" that many now living will never die but live forever in paradise earth, even though the Bible says the real Good News is that because of Christ there will be a resurrection and at 1 Corinthians 15:22 Paul says we all sin so all will die and need resurrection.  Adam and Eve were told they would never die but could live forever in paradise, and the source of this attractive but false Good News wasn't God but a serpent or Satan. Some Governing Body members are more "in-the-know" than others.  One way we know this is that Raymond Franz has written that he stumbled upon and was shocked by seeing Watchtower's secret sin files being kept even on long-dead JWs.  This was back at the time that he was at Watchtower's world headquarters, and was something that he, one of the Governing Body members, had not even known about.   Allusion has also been made by Watchtower at times to circles within circles or rings within rings within the Watchtower Society, for example in a book about Ezekial.  As with Free Masonry, it is not hard to picture some Watchtower elders and possibly their wives as being more entrusted with secrets than other elders and rank-and-file members.  

Due to misdirection, JWs, sometimes children too, are bleeding to death despite 1 Samuel 14:31-35 showing God forgave all Saul's men after they ate unbled meat to stay alive.  Misdirected at the yearly Memorial of the Last Supper, most JWs do not partake of the bread and wine emblems, thus symbolically denying the Body of Christ; and, interestingly the denial of Christ is also a ritual among Satanists, something few JWs realize.  Although Colossians 2:16 says not to judge others over holidays JWs are told to do just that including with Christmas, yet God's own faithful angels and shepherds celebrated Christ's birthday. (Luke 2)  

Watchtower claims this is because Christians took Christmas aspects from pagans, so they don't want JWs to celebrate it.  Might there be another more factual reason?  In reality Watchtower's denying Christmas is still another way of also denying Christ.  Other semi-secretive and secret groups such as Free Masons do a form of denial of Christ by keeping at lodges a Bible from which the entire New Testament has been removed.  Watchtower has removed words such as Lord in 12 places in the New Testament while substituting Jehovah, not as they have claimed only where scriptures refer back to Old Testament verses using the divine name, but without any reference.
