DETAILS OF THE JACKSON FAMILY'S
PRIVATE MEMORIAL SERVICE
About seventy Jackson family members including cousins from Gary,
Indiana, gathered at Forest Lawn in Holly Wood Hills, California, for remembering Michael Jackson whose body lay
in an open casket.
There Jackson's cousin Wendell Hawkins conducted a Jehovah's Witness service.
He said he was please that Jackson's life had involved Jehovah God Almighty.
He
then read John 3:16 saying God sent his only born son so that believers might be saved from dead.
Hawkins also read Ecclesiastes 9:5 which says the dead are conscious of nothing, which JWs are
taught by the Watchtower Society to mean there is not only no body that is conscious but also no surviving, conscious spirit.
Also the Watchtower Society's song "Life With End At Last" was sung.
Michael Jacksons kid's,
Paris (age 11), Prince Michael the First (12), and Prince Michael the Second (7) were present. Parents
Katherine and Joe Jackson were at the home in Encino to which those at the memorial went afterwards.
MICHAEL
JACKSON TELLS OF HIS MISSING CHILDHOOD AS A JEHOVAH'S WITNESS YOUNGSTER
Michael Jackson
wrote in 2000 that when people watched him on TV at about 8 years old they only saw a boy with a big smile, and they imagine
the little boy is:
"joyous, that he is singing his heart out because he is happy, and that he is dancing
with an energy that never quits because he is carefree. But while
singing and dancing were, and undoubtedly remain, some of my greatest joys, at that time what I wanted more than anything
else were the two things that make childhood the most wondrous years of life, namely, playtime and a feeling of freedom.....” He also says "More
than anything, I wished to be a normal little boy. I wanted to build tree houses and go to roller-skating parties. But very
early on, this became impossible. I had to accept that my childhood would be different than most others. But that's what
always made me wonder what an ordinary childhood would be like.".....
Further, "Up to 1991, the time
of my Dangerous tour, I would don my disguise of fat suit, wig, beard, and glasses and head off to live in the land of everyday
America, visiting shopping plazas and tract homes in the suburbs.
“I loved to set foot in all those houses and catch
sight of the shag rugs and La-Z-Boy armchairs with kids playing Monopoly and grandmas baby-sitting and all those wonderfully
ordinary and, to me, magical scenes of life. Many, I know, would argue that these things seem like no big
deal. But to me they were positively fascinating."

In LaToya Jackson’s book she says “One day
I walked into Janet's room to find Michael crying his eyes out. 'LaToya, ... I can't talk to you ever again. ...
The elders had a big meeting, and they told me never to speak to you because you haven't been coming to the Kingdom Hall.
... they said that if I don't stop talking to you, they'll kick me out of the religion.' ... Michael decided to
disobey the elders' edict and after that never attended any more meetings. ... he subsequently severed his ties to the
organization through a formal letter. What made this painful episode even more agonizing was that for a long time I believed
Michael might be one of the Remnant, the select 144,000.”
